about Calabria & your stay

Calabria is a region of strong contrasts.Tourism is quite slow and there are no chains or large hotel complexes. Therefore, the connections are also very limited. In Cetraro, for example, there are neither taxis nor public transports. We therefore recommend, that you rent a car at the Lamezia Terme airport, so that you can move freely.

However, Calabria is a beautiful region, bordered by two seas. It is authentic and rich in ancient traditions and historical testimonies. It is located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea and therefore has been inhabited by different populations, which have left their historical mark, creating fascinating traditions and cultures. Among them were Greeks, Saracens, Aragonese, Normans and Ottomans. We strongly advise you to visit the numerous historic centers along the coast but also in the hinterland.
